Program Description
This one day program provides insight into the legilation and processes around skills
development in South Africa.
Target Audience
The target audience would be anyone actively involved, or who takes an active interest in, the
skills development at any organisation.
Outcomes
- Provide information and advice on legislation related to skills development.
- Provide guidance on skills development legislation (South African Qualifications Authority Act, Skills Development Act, Skills Development Levies Act, Employment Equity Act).
- Facilitate understanding of skills development structures (National Skills Authority, Sector Education and Training Authorities, Education and Training Quality Assurance Bodies, Skills Development Planning Unit, Employment Services), mechanisms (Learnerships, Skills Programmes, Employment Services) and financing (Levies, grants, subsidies, National Skills Fund).
- Provide information and advice concerning learning and assessment.
- Provide advice to an organisation concerning the promotion of skills development.
