1. Where is Khanyisela College?

11 King Edward Street, Newton Park.

From Cape Road, riding away from the Greenacres Mall, take a right into Third Avenue.

Proceed all the way down, passing two circles, until you see the Alexander High School field on your right.

Take a right at King Edward Street, and we are just past the block of flats.

2. Why do you call yourselves a private college?

The Department of Education requires all training institutions who offer full qualifications on a matric level (NQF level 4) to be registered with them in order to regulate and quality assure.  The Department of Higher Education issues all colleges who meet the quality assuring standards of Umalusi (who quality assures school level matric as well) a registration certificate.

Back in the early ‘90’s already, the government recognised the need to broaden the scope of education in the country, since there were many people who did not have the opportunity to finish matric.  By allowing them to pursue a Grade 12 in their field, further study becomes more accessible and more relevant to so many more people.

3. What courses do you offer?

There are three matric equivalent qualifications:  Management, Business Administration Services and Real Estate.

There is one National Certificate on NQF level 2 (grade 10):  Specialist Cleaning Services

We have one National Certificate on NQF level 5 (post-matric):  Education, Training and Development Practices

We have one National Diploma on NQF level 5 (post-matric):  Education, Training and Development Practices

4. Who are you accredited with?

We are accredited with the Services SETA as our primary SETA.

We have a Memorandum of Understanding with the ETDP SETA.

We are registered with SACE (South African Council for Educators).

5. What else does Khanyisela College offer?

6. Will I get a discount if I send more than one person?

There are discounts available for more than six people from the same company or group, up to a maximum of 10% discount.

7. Do you have payment terms?

We offer affordable payment options:

  •      5% discount for cash up front payments
  •      20% deposit and six equal payments, for full qualifications only, subject to the signing of a Service level Agreement and debit order form
  •      8.5% interest rate if paying over 12 months for full qualifications only, subject to the signing of a Service level Agreement and debit order form
8. What can I do with this qualification?

All qualifications are recognised by the Department of Education, and therefore most tertiary institutions.  You should approach the institution you would like to study at, with your Statement of Results from Khanyisela College, as well as your Certificate of Competence, and enquire about articulation.  Khanyisela College may provide you with a letter outlining the details of your qualification for a fee of R150.

9. How do you know that the FETC’s are matric certificates?
